Blaupunkt Brand FAQs

Blaupunkt boasts over a century of German engineering heritage, established in 1923. Originally recognized for its 'blue dot' quality seal, this legacy signifies pioneering innovation and robust reliability. In the EV charging sector, this rich history translates into charging solutions built with meticulous attention to detail, durability, and performance, drawing directly from decades of automotive and electronics expertise.
Blaupunkt was a subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH for many decades, during which it solidified its position as a leading automotive electronics supplier, particularly in car radios and navigation systems. Following a strategic restructuring, Bosch divested Blaupunkt, leading to its current global licensing model. This evolution allowed the brand to extend its trusted name and quality standards across a broader range of high-tech product categories, including advanced EV charging infrastructure.
Blaupunkt was instrumental in defining in-car entertainment, introducing the world's first car radio in 1932. Later Blaupunkt radios were factory-fitted or standard dealer options in classic German vehicles from brands such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Volkswagen, further strengthening our reputation. This legacy of inseparable integration with renowned German car brands and consumer trust is a cornerstone of our brand identity.
Today, Blaupunkt operates under a robust global licensing model. This strategic approach partners the Blaupunkt brand with leading manufacturers in specific product categories, such as EV charging infrastructure. These licensees develop and market products under the Blaupunkt name, adhering strictly to our overarching brand guidelines, design principles, and engineering specifications, ensuring consistent quality and brand representation globally.
Maintaining our premium quality is paramount, even within a licensed model. Blaupunkt implements stringent quality control protocols, including detailed technical specifications, design approval processes, material standards, and regular audits of manufacturing facilities. Every Blaupunkt EV charging solution undergoes rigorous testing and certification to meet and exceed international safety and performance standards.
